Flea Market Friday - join in!

goodness, I almost forgot! here i am thinking it is Thursday!

Well, obviously it is getting colder and harder for us to get to a flea market without warm weather and it not raining - so i think this will be the last FMF until it warms up again!

i did manage to find a few things last week at Columbus, but not alot - not many vendors when it is cold.

Hi from Pennsylvania. I am staying with my girlfriend, Leslie, and we are taking a few classes at Beadfest. Tonight we started our two day class on resin applications with Susan Lenart Kazmar. It was fun and i resined a lovely butterfly that i found on the ground at Wawa before class.  this morning before driving to Philly, i stopped at Columbus flea market and found a few things. you'll have to excuse my photos, as i had to do an impromptu photo shoot inside my car since i would be blogging here at Leslie's house.

Today was a busy day and i only had a few minutes to walk around the flea market before i needed to be home to teach a soldering class. i decided i would only go down the first 2 rows and then i needed to head home. Well, at the end of the first row, i hit the best vendor. i got gobs of jewelry, 30 religious medallions (each one is different!) and lots of really old, beautiful lace. now don't hate me when i tell you that all this was only $30!

flea market with Pam

Before Pam's class, we managed to scoot out to a flea market and hunt down a few bargains. it was a nice day, but boy did it get hot. Our friend, Sallianne, who was driving to the class from New York, drove straight to the flea market (gotta love it!) so that was fun to meet up with her. Jane made the class, but not the market, due to one of her vehicles over heating. we all managed to walk away with a few treasures which we were all happy about.

it's almost Friday!

Not much going on around here with any specific to report. I've got Pamela Huntington's class here on Saturday, so have been getting ready for that. also doing a little yard work; you know all that kind of spring sort of stuff. the yard is looking great. it always does in the spring. then summer comes around and the lawn starts to burn (we don't water the yard except for rain) - but i'll enjoy it now while i can.
i squeezed in a little project yesterday that just landed in my lap. so that was fun to grab a little unexpected art. my friend, Brenda, dropped off an old sewing cabinet that she had purchased at an estate sale, so i spent a few hours sprucing it up. i love how it turned out.

my sister and i hit a little swap meet this morning. the weather couldn't have been nicer, so it was great to be walking around by the ocean outside in the sunshine! i'll remember and appreciate this day when i get back home and have a few more months of cold weather left! of course my sister found me drooling over all this vintage jewelry when she snapped this photo.

this is what i glued to the front of the lamp. i got this in an Easter swap a few years ago. I've always just loved it and it was the perfect piece to add for a focal point.

porch party

this is the metal homemade bookcase/cabinet that i picked up yesterday. it looks like its always been here. i thought i'd take some other pictures of my back porch for you to enjoy. there is a hook over the cabinet, so i'll pick up a hanging basket of flowers, which i think will look really nice.

this is a pair of shutters i picked up yesterday for $20.

and here is the potting bench i also got yesterday. the guy who makes them is retiring. he said this is the last one. he and his wife are really cool. they live down south in a town called, "Tuckerton". he is selling off his wood pieces, so me and jeff (jane wants to go too!) are going to go see what he has.

a paper mache bust also found yesterday. i have some vintage metal flower curtain tie back pin that i will poke into the bust and then hang my necklaces from there.

* a couple of you wanted to know how i got all these items back home: we live quite close to this flea market, so jeff and dillon drove over and picked up one load. then jeff came back later and picked us girls up. then jane and i returned with the truck to get the tin shed. it was light weight and easily slid into the back of jeff's truck.
