Flea Market Friday

Off to a late start this morning, but here's my flea market friday post: Jane and I went to Columbus flea market last week and then on Saturday I headed over to Ocean Grove Flea Market. My budget is lean right now, so i didn't go to crazy, plus as Jane and i keep saying, "how much stuff do we need". So it really has to be something quite spectacular, very useful, on the small side or the "cute" factor (which is something so cute and priced at a point that you can't walk away!)

Something is going on with Linky these days - You have to pay for it now, which i'm not gonna do. So if you are participating, leave your blog post info in the comment section.

this blue door was my favorite find from Ocean Grove. love it in my garden.

got 4 of these vintage cement blue birds, which are scattered about in the yard

love the green lingerie? glove box? perfect size for in the studio and great drawers to hold stuff. the box to the left is a wig box that i got to house my handmade Marie Antoinette wig (the one i wore at the Steampunk Convention)

a sweet little dollie and a hand fan. I love these fans. I pick them up from $1-$3 and i put them in my purse. I used one yesterday at Tucker's graduation as the room got really warm and there was no circulating air. My blood pressure tends to run on the low side and keeping a fan handy in those type of circumstances always helps out!

a sweet little doggie, little old "well loved" Steiff lamb, a vintage Asian pincushion (another item i collect)

handmade flowers and a darling little sewing basket

top of the pincushion with vintage pins

a smattering of bling

cool old sampler

yummy linens and lace

my friend, Angela, was selling at Ocean Grove

hooked up with Michelle

ran into my buddy Marlene

flea market friday next week

can you believe that i have not been to a flea market in A LONG TIME? you know that is rare for me. My friend, Jane and i, are either going to Columbus tomorrow or Ocean Grove on Saturday (or both), so i figured, we could do a Flea Market Friday next Friday, June 10th. If you don't know what FMF is, its just a little blog gathering where you do a blog post featuring items you have found at the flea market, estate sales, antique store, thrift store, etc. Create a blog post for Friday, June 10th and then come over here to log into the linky that you will find under my post. then we can all hop around and see what sort of goodies we have found lately. don't worry, it can be something you found a few months ago, or something you found recently. We just want to see the goodies!

--------------------------------------------

in other news, tucker is feeling much better. i want to thank everyone for their kind comments and thoughts for my sweetie pie. he went back to school yesterday. he came home very tired, poor guy. hopefully each day will get be better than the next. He's graduating on June 9th though, so he actually doesn't have many days left in the school year.

i randomly did a little sewing a few days ago and created a shower curtain for my bathroom. It's been on my to do list, so i finally tackled it. it's quite heavy! this picture was taken in the hallway as the bathroom is very tiny and it's to hard to snap a photo in there. the shower is one of those stalls, so thus the smaller rod......

an impromptu flea market friday

Since last Thursday was so beautiful here in New Jersey a few friends and i got to hit the flea market, so i thought we'd do an impromptu flea market friday this week. To play, just show us some of your flea market , thrift store or garage sales finds in a blog post. You'll add your linky to my post on friday so that others can see your blog post and then you need to link your blog post back to my blog.

see you friday!

great color for this vintage sewing basket - i think i'll use it to transport jewelry to my next show (The Creative Connection)
-----------------------------------------------------------

can't ever resist glass rosary beads
-------------------------------------------------

two cool tin types - really like the gypsy looking girl
-------------------------------------------

old keys and a sweet souvenir coin purse. i remember loving those when i was little

------------------------------------------------------

vintage Christmas ornaments - $5 a box

through the garden gate

Early this morning i was out in the garden watering and decided to bring my camera. it's been awhile since i took photos of my garden. the butterflies were quite active this morning; fluttering around the butterfly bush to drink their fill before moving on.

it's this butterfly just beautiful? when i was photographing this butterfly, a hummingbird swooped in and scared him off (and startled me too!) i think he was very curious about me as he just hovered in front of me for a few seconds staring at me. i tried to get my camera out of my left hand to get his pic, but then off he went! we don't see too many hummers here - so that was a real treat for today.
-----------------------------------------------

a window's view into my world
-----------------------------------------------------

gigantic perennial hibiscus - such delicate beauty.
--------------------------------------------------------------

my bird bath waiting for that little black bird to come and take his daily bath.

---------------------------------------------------------------

a worn and weathered angel - i say she's done a good job watching over my gardens

-----------------------------------------------------------

broken beauty with new life and love

-----------------------------------------------------------

these icky webs are all over the yard. i prefer the intricate spun ones

----------------------------------------------------

brand new blooms on my hydrangea. Did you know the Victorian meaning behind the hydrangea was perseverance?

-----------------------------------------------------------------

tiny, sweet little blue eyed susan

---------------------------------------------------

found this little visitor behind one of my chair cushions on the back deck. i often find them here because it is cool and moist. i like to gently spray water back there for them to drink and stay cool.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

just a reminder:

tomorrow is flea market friday again!

for those who know me, you know I love my hats! I have been waiting to find a top hat that would fit me- so i was so excited to find this today. I'm going to give it some serious flair. I'm thinking feathers, bling, flowers, etc. can't wait to work on it.

this vintage brooch is my favorite find

delicious bling

this tiny revolver will look really fun in a necklace

someone made these tiny little tiles. on the back they say "handpainted by Natalie"

found these nicely worn cowboy boots for $20.

jeff and i found this column for $45. i thought i'd use it as a jewelry display at shows

--------------------------------------

and occasionally i'll run into a pal or two at the flea market. here's Beth of Gypsy Fish Studio and I having some early morning tea.

huge bag of seed beads and trim

anyone know what kind of ribbon this is? i thought i'd make some flowers with it and sell some (of the ribbon) at The Creative Connection, where i will be vending handmade and vintage finds.

more ooglicious bling

isn't this the sweetest dollie?

this is a homemade, steampunky, assemblage clock (nonworking). it is really cool and a lot of thought went into it. i wish i knew more about it or who made it. but the price was great - $15
