do you ever feel like this?

i absolutley ADORE this picture. it was forwarded to me by my mom who got it from a friend and so on and so on. what i love most about this photo is the dogs face - in particular, his eyes. his eyes are saying, "ugh - i hate this. sharing sucks". i showed this picture to jane and her daughter, claudia, this weekend - and i said, "there's some life lessons to be learned from this photo". i feel the doggie is doing what he feels is the right thing to do - sharing his food; even though he really doesn't want to. sometimes we do things because we know it is the right thing to do, but inside, secretly, we don't really want to do it. but that's okay, don't you think? that is what makes us kind and gentle. putting others before ourselves - and in the end though, it usually ends up in our favor. (i think they call that, karma).

  4. I think you're right about the Karma. And thank you for saying that sometimes it sucks to do the right thing. It isn't always cheerful nobility...sometimes it's not fun.

    Great picture!

  6. Or the golden rule treat others the way you would want to be treated. Shows the action starts with us no matter what the other one does...And hopefull they won't be stinky about it...that dogs face is just priceless.

  8. sorta on the same subject, when cleaning out my "stuff" yesterday, i found this little blurb i had cut out of some newspaper some time - (?) this is for all of us who have had the fun experience of our dogs not knowing that he needs to leave the skunk alone -
"In Sacramento, Leslie's dog, Daisy, was sprayed in the face by a skunk. After 3 cans of tomato juice failed to remove the odor, her dog groomer gave her the secret: Massengill Douche! Rub the powder in, he said, works every time!" love, mom

  10. Oh my. The look on the dogs face does say alot. Sometimes you just need to bite your lower lip and say nothing or in this case step back.
You have to know when to pick your battles, as my mom told me after us kids grew up. The actions we take do come back to us in some form or another, good and bad. Like you said Karma.
