a surprise indeed

I've been trying to get a blog post up with my pictures from Nags Head, but I came home to find out that Tucker was sick (allergies), the house was a bit of a wreck and still much to clean up after the basement flooded. Then last night, Tucker had another nasty bout with the allergies, so it's been a bit stressful to say the least. I don't think i've stopped when minute since I've been home, so I'm a little tired and our nerves are fried.

Today I received a very special email from a group of friends who pooled their funds to buy me a gift certificate to a store in Nags Head that Lesley had taken me too. I fell in love with a pair of pants, but decided not to get them, as they were a bit out of my budget and things have been tight lately. (is there ever any catching up when it comes to money?) The store was expecting my phone call and the pants have been purchased and on their way here.

here's the sweet little email i received from them:

Thank you for being the artist that you are. Not merely an artist in the traditional sense, though you are indeed that, but also for being that special someone that has created art in our lives.
You have taken your tools of the trade and with a wisp of a paint brush you have turned a gray sky to blue, the tightening of screw has given us resolve, a line of solder has strengthened our confidence and lacy and rich embellishments has helped us to see ourselves as beautifully as you do.
Perhaps this should be adorned ornately with clouds of glitter and vintage things but perhaps just the words can be our bit of art in your heart today.
We Love You,
Lesley, Sal, Ellen, Kim, Taryn, Sherry, Leslie, Colleen M. and Jane

Friends always seem to know when you need a little pat on the back or some cheering up. I want to thank my friends for thinking of me. It does my sometimes discouraged heart, good.
